Getting to Know David Servant
It is in the southern suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where David Servant was raised. Despite being confirmed at the age of 12, David didn't fully believe in Jesus Christ. David continued this way until his high school life. He even laughed at his high school aptitude test which revealed that he was good in ministry and entertainment. David's goal was to have a log cabin in the woods of Canada and live his whole life there. Things changed though when he was in his sophomore year and started reading the New Testament while doing his spiritual searching. He graduated at the Upper St. Clair High School in 1976 and started getting involved in the Young Life youth ministry.
God showed that He had a different plan for David and didn't want him to run away from the world. David's important role is helping build God's kingdom. David received his first call to ministry during his first year in Penn State. At first, when David Servant got his calling, he was still reluctant but still accepted it. It was right after that when David also enrolled in Bible School.
Together with his wife Becky, David started his first church right after they graduated. It was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, David's hometown, where they started his church. David and Becky have been married for 38 years and have three grown married children and seven grandchildren. Over the course of David and Becky's marriage, they have pioneered and pastored three churches. David and Becky built amission-oriented church. David is the one that traveled often to teach in various pastors conference. David has made a number of ministry friends due to his travels internationally, especially in developing countries.
David's vocational ministry has been ongoing for 38 years now. David Servant has been a pastor and an international Bible teacher. David's ministry is able to reach over 50 nations around the world. He is also an author of eight different books. This includes a 500-page ministerial training manual. The book is The Disciple-Making Minister and is the one that hat has been translated into 22 different languages. This famous book has been printed over 100,000 times and has been distributed in various ministries all over the world. David has also founded Heaven's Family, a ministry that is aimed at serving the "least of these". This ministry is present in 30 different nations. This ministry is actively meeting the needs of orphans, widows, the hungry, the thirsty, the handicapped, prisoners, refugees, victims of natural disasters, and those suffering critical medical needs.
